Nuno Ricou Salgado

(Lisbon, 1968)

Working since 1990 as a creativeproducer and project manager for several institutions in the cultural industries. Both as a producer and as a creative, Nuno developed projects related with Visual Arts (photography), Festivals, Performing Arts (theatre), Multimedia (cinema, video and television), Music, creative markets, international cultural networks and conferences.

Received the Award for Portuguese Producer of the Year 2014 - Prémio Natércia Campos

Founding member and Chairman of the Board of Associação Cultural e Social (2005).

2017/19 - Artistic Director and Head Coordinator of PARALLEL – European Photo Based platform. PARALLEL is a platform that brings together creative European organisations committed to promoting cross-cultural exchanges and mentorships in order to set new standards in contemporary photography.
Members include museums, galleries, cultural centres, festivals, art schools and publishers – 18 of the most vibrant European cultural hubs, from 16 different countries, that participate in selecting and hosting emerging artists and curators, organising exhibitions and promoting artistic networking.

2015/17- Artistic Director and Head Coordinator of “Flâneur – New Urban Narratives”, a network project based on a European partnership of 20 organisations from 11 different countries. Its main purpose was to carry out artistic interventions by commissioning photographers around Europe, inspired by European cities and using contemporary photography as their main artistic media.

2011/13- Artistic Director and Manager of “Entre Margens”, a 3-year cultural project using public photography, installations and multi-disciplinary performances. (

2008/11- Artistic Director and Manager of “FORMAS– Plataforma para as Artes Performativas de Tavira”. A culturalevent focusing on Mediterranean performing arts’ promotion as well as, integrating a market component and street art performances.

2004/10- Coordinator of Pisa-Papéis – Roadmap for the Performing Arts, a communication platform targeted to professionals of performing arts in Portugal and Spain.

2004- Curator and Production Director of the Exhibition “Real:Surreal”, Lisbon.

1993/99– Coordinator of“European Youth Exchanges Projects”and “Priority Actions” (EU Youth for Europe Programme) in several countries: Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Portugal and Brasil.
