I want each photographer’s work to be in conversation with one another, creating a cohesive visual and thematic journey. The exhibition will follow a historical and contemporary trajectory, beginning with Giya’s project, which explores colonialism and its impact on ancestral beliefs. This leads into Tayo’s work, which examines the exploitation and commodification of Black women’s bodies. Jono’s project then delves into Zimbabwe’s colonial legacies, highlighting their lasting effects.

From there, Obayomi’s work addresses the continued influence of colonial powers through the systemic rejection of visa applications, revealing modern-day barriers to mobility. KC’s project captures the instability many face, even within their own continent, documenting the forced displacement of Nigerians from South Africa due to xenophobia. The exhibition concludes with Adïam’s work, which focuses on the struggles and resilience of refugees, offering a message of hope despite the ongoing challenges of displacement.
