Action for a green future aims to be yet another warning against the rapid degradation of the planet. So long as the policies and behaviours of society do not change course towards a more sustainable future, warnings like these cannot be overstated. It is important to fight global warming with attitudes that lead to the reduction of greenhouse gases and promote greater sustainability of human activities and habits.
In this exhibition, we present a series of works that address detrimental consequences for the environment and the survival of species.
Partnering with marine biologists, Mandy Barker develops a project that shows us the agonizing and slow death of the Flesh-Footed Shearwater as a result of the ingestion of micro plastics.
Originally from Iceland, Charlotta María Hauksdóttir has been photographing her homeland for over two decades, documenting the profound impacts of climate change. The central placement of her work in the exhibition space aims to emphasize the seriousness of global warming.
With “Bitter Honey”, Margaux Senlis travels across a large swath of the French territory to denounce the disappearance of bees caused by monocultures, droughts and the use of certain pesticides.
Finally, in “Nas Hortas”, Fernando Brito surveys a territory and inadvertently finds examples of responsible attitudes in the relationship between man and environment, involving the spontaneous but sustainable occupation of the territory.
Faced with worsening environmental conditions, we must all, even if on a small scale, contribute to a greener future. Reducing the consumption of electricity, water and fossil fuels, developing recycling habits, are examples of small steps the planet will be grateful for.
